Richard Fox, founder of Faraway Safaris, spent many months traveling in Sri Lanka during college and has dreamed of sharing his wonderful experiences on the island ever since. Beginning with an exploratory trip in February of 2009, Richard will make his aspiration a reality. Our adventure in Sri Lanka is designed to capture the essence of the magical isle, which is filled with tremendous history, wonderful people, and magnificent scenery, flora and fauna. Our newly created itinerary will bring to life extraordinary tales of mysterious ancient civilizations, Hindu legends, and time honored Buddhist traditions. The colorful past of the Isle lives on in the vibrant culture of today and you will find yourself welcomed by the hospitable and culturally diverse people of the modern age. You will also explore the dramatic topographic variety of the island from the gorgeous beaches to the tea plantations of the mountainous interior. The adventure also includes Yala National Park, one of Asia’s premiere wildlife viewing environments.
