Faraway Safaris is pleased to announce a special adventure in Sri Lanka. Richard Fox, founder of Faraway Safaris, spent many months traveling in Sri Lanka during college and has dreamed of sharing his wonderful experiences on the island ever since. Beginning with an exploratory trip in February of 2009, Richard will make his aspiration a reality.

Our adventure in Sri Lanka is designed to capture the essence of the magical isle, one that is filled with tremendous history, wonderful people and magnificent scenery. Our newly created itinerary will bring to life extraordinary tales of ancient civilizations, Hindu legends and time-honored Buddhist traditions. The Isle’s colorful history lives on in the vibrant culture of modern Sri Lanka. You will find yourself welcomed by an exceptionally hospitable and culturally diverse people. You will also explore the dramatic topographic variety of the island, which includes gorgeous beaches along the coast and tea plantations in the mountainous interior. The adventure also includes a visit to Yala National Park, one of Asia’s premiere wildlife viewing environments.

Following the adventure in Sri Lanka, Richard and Hadley Fox are off to Thailand and Cambodia. This adventure to Southeast Asia will be entirely new for both of them, and they are very excited to be scouting out new destinations for Faraway Safaris. The trip encompasses a broad spectrum of what Thailand and Cambodia have to offer, including visits to a tiger monastery, the infamous bridge on the river Kuai and the exquisite Angkor Wat. Faraway Safaris looks forward to offering this new destination upon their return.
